Free and low-cost critical-need language summer programs for first and second-year students.
STARTALK hosts engaging summer program for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade as well as undergraduate students. These student programs take place in communities all over the United States during the summer months and are offered for free or very low cost for participants. Programs provide the opportunity to learn a new language or deepen prior language skills. Languages offered include Arabic, Chinese, Korean, Persian and Russian.

Supports undergraduate students seeking to study a less commonly taught language abroad in a non-English speaking country (outside of Western Europe). Up to $12,500 for a semester and up to $25,000 for a full academic year. Special summer program for STEM students: up to $8,000 for a minimum 8-week program.
The CLS Program provides intensive language study for US undergraduate and graduate students, funded by the US Department of State. Students spend eight to ten weeks abroad studying one of 13 critical languages. The program funds eight to ten weeks of language immersion and cultural enrichment, including travel, room, and board.
