AI in Action: Business Innovation and Workforce Transformation

(Columbia, S.C.) — The University of South Carolina’s Office of the Vice President for Research and the Darla Moore School of Business are proud to announce, "AI in Action," a summit set for April 16-17, 2026, at Gateway 737. The event will bring together a distinguished group of industry executives, university partners, and academic faculty to examine the impact of artificial intelligence on business strategy, the evolving workforce, and organizational resilience.

Throughout the two-day event, participants will explore the energy, healthcare, and finance sectors through industry panels and university partnerships focused on education and R&D action.

"The AI Summit offers an opportunity for industry and academic leaders to engage on how artificial intelligence is reshaping business and the workforce, and to translate those conversations into actionable insights." said Audrey Korsgaard, Senior Associate Dean for Research and Academics and Professor of Management at the Moore School.

The program features a keynote address by Ashley AuBuchon-Arcand, Strategy & Transformation Executive at IBM, who will provide a high-level look at the global AI landscape and the strategic shifts necessary for organizations to thrive in an automated era.

The summit features three specialized industry panels, each designed to address the specific challenges and opportunities within South Carolina’s infrastructure. The Energy Resilience panel examines how AI is transforming operations and decision-making through the expertise of leaders from Dominion Energy, KEPCO, and Hubbell Inc. Building on these insights, the Healthcare Operations panel explores the reshaping of clinical delivery and performance with executives from Prisma Health and Qatalyst Health. Finally, the Risk and Liability panel offers a deep dive into the governance and legal frameworks essential for responsible adoption, led by experts from IBM, Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., and Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough. Learn more about the AI in Action Summit. » Learn more about and register for the April 16-17 AI Summitt. »
