The Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies (ASEEES) provides grants to PhD students for the purposes of summer dissertation writing on any aspect of Slavic, East European, and Eurasian studies in any discipline.
Deadlines are typically in April, but be sure to check the competition website for the current cycle’s deadline.
Students must be ABD and be members of ASEEES. Grants may be held concurrently with other partial funding sources, but are intended to support students whose projects have not yet been supported with fully-funded fellowships or grants. The recipients should use the summer grant period to focus on writing and not accept other major responsibilities, such as full-time work.
Awardees are given a grant of up to $6,000 ($2,000 per month).

Supports one year of research, study, or teaching English abroad through the US Fulbright program. Travel and living expenses provided.
This program provides funding for individual doctoral students who conduct research in other countries, in modern foreign languages and area studies for periods of six to 12 months. Provides an average of $46,000 of support for up to one year of dissertation research abroad.
