UofSC Graduate Student Completes Master of Public Health Degree to Improve Health in Vietnam

Dr. Ly Tran is a Vietnamese physician who received her Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from the UofSC Arnold School of Public Health in December 2018. Dr. Tran chose to focus on public health after attending medical school and discovering that there was a need for research and data analysis focused on improving physical health, diet, mental health and chronic illness. During her time at UofSC, Dr. Tran, who is also a Fulbright Scholar, credits graduate Director Linda Hazlett as a positive mentor who increased her resolve during the degree process. Dale Moore, Assistant Dean of the Graduate School expresses, “I’ve followed Dr. Tran’s academic progress and take pride in our role in helping her achieve her personal and professional goals”.
