Office of Research Honors 2021 Breakthrough Award Recipients

Each year, the Office of the Vice President for Research honors some of the University of South Carolina’s brightest research minds with our signature slate of Breakthrough Awards—Breakthrough Leadership in Research Awards for senior faculty, Stars Awards for junior faculty and Graduate Scholars Awards for graduate students. This year, we are pleased to celebrate a new class of five Breakthrough Leadership in Research Award recipients, 12 Stars and 13 Graduate Scholars.

Vice President for Research, Prakash Nagarkatti said of this distinguished group, “The University of South Carolina is very fortunate to have so many excellent scholars populating our research community at every level. This year’s Breakthrough award recipients are among the best of the best. It is an honor to call this year’s faculty award recipients colleagues, and to have a small role in launching the 2021 Graduate Scholars into their promising careers. Congratulations to you all on this well-earned accolade.”
