Moore School undergraduate international business program receives No. 1 ranking for 19th year in a row

September 12, 2017

After coming off a Gamecock football win, USC’s Darla Moore School of Business had many reasons to celebrate this week. For the 19th year in a row, the Moore School’s international business program has received the No. 1 national ranking from U.S. News and World Report. The Moore School’s International MBA program has also been ranked No. 1 this year, maintaining its place in the top three nationally for more than 25 years.

“Being recognized as the best among peers is impressive, but being able to sustain that No. 1 standing for nearly 20 years shows that the Darla Moore School of Business works diligently to sustain a truly excellent program,” says Dean Peter Brews. “To be ranked No. 1 at the same time for both undergraduate and graduate international business programs reflects the high quality, rigor and depth of Moore School programs, students and faculty.”

The Moore School’s expertise in international business extends to the other disciplines in the business school as well. Students in all eight majors offered by the Moore School are required to take nine credit hours of courses with international content. These courses include two language courses at or above the 200-level, unless students demonstrate a high level of proficiency in a second language. Students are also required to take a course in international business or international economics. In addition to the globalized curriculum at the Moore School, students have numerous international opportunities in the form of study abroad and exchange options.

“Academic partnerships with more than 60 leading international universities enhance the preparation of international business graduates to lead with the cross-cultural perspectives necessary for today’s global marketplace,” Brews says.

The university as a whole is now ranked No. 46 among all public institutions — moving up three spots from No. 49 last year — and No. 25 among state flagships. USC’s overall ranking has been going up for four years now, and the university has 47 nationally ranked programs total.
