Darla Moore School of Business international business professor Chuck Kwok has been elected president of the Academy of International Business, the leading global association of international business scholars. In August, Kwok will begin presiding at all executive board meetings, appointing and instructing committees, and leading the strategic direction of the organization.

Kwok was elected to this position primarily because of the various ways in which he has contributed to AIB over the years. He was the vice president of AIB from 1995 to 1996 and served on the editorial board of the Journal of International Business, the peer-reviewed scholarly journal of AIB, from 1989 to 1992, 1998 to 2002 and 2012 to 2016 as well as serving on it currently. He conducted two rounds of the Global Survey of International Business Education for AIB and was the chairman of the Best Paper Award Committee at the AIB Conferences in 2002, 2003 and 2005.

“The Academy of International Business plays an important role in in the creation and dissemination of knowledge about international business and policy issues across all academic disciplines and managerial functions,” Kwok said. “The organization’s reputation for academic integrity and value to the business community make serving as its president a high honor.”

The Academy of International Business was established in 1959 and today has almost 3500 members in more than 80 different countries.
