Moore School MBA students need your help fundraising for Duke Fuqua MBA Games

March 30, 2017

For the first year, a team of Moore School MBA students is participating in the Duke Fuqua MBA Games, a philanthropy event at Duke University that raises money for Special Olympics North Carolina and gives MBA students from other schools the opportunity to network with each other. The Moore School’s team needs to raise at least $500 by April 6 in order to compete in the field day-style games, which take place April 6-8.

The Duke Fuqua MBA Games not only raise money for Special Olympics, but they also pair athletes from Special Olympics with participating teams for the actual games. After competing in various games and activities, the students and athletes will all come together for the closing ceremony and dinner.

International MBA student Brittany VanderBeek and MBA student Kausik Ghosh are heading up the team and hope that the games are something Moore School MBA students will participate in for years to come.

“We want this to continue so the next round of MBA students is well-connected,” Ghosh said.

Both are participating with the goal of showing the kind of positive impact the Moore School can have on different communities.

“We have all these bright people together who are dedicated to creating a strong community,” Vanderbeek said. “I think this is a really good opportunity to get our hands dirty and show that we can make an impact.”

If you are interested in donating or joining the team, check out their team page. All donations go directly to Special Olympics North Carolina.
