Moore School 100th anniversary celebration to be held on Aug. 22

July 25, 2019

The Darla Moore School of Business is celebrating its centennial with the 100th Anniversary Business Bash, an event for Moore School students, faculty and staff.

The bash will be held 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. August 22 in the Charles S. Way Jr. Palmetto Court, the courtyard adjacent to Greene Street outside the SCANA Study Commons on the second level.

“The business school is having this event to kick off the new school year and celebrate 100 years of business education,” said Bo Hart, Moore School assistant director for alumni engagement. “It is important for students to be engaged, show pride for the Moore School and celebrate the historical milestone of the first 100 years and to officially launch the next 100 years!”

Students are encouraged to stop by in between classes. In addition to selfies with Cocky, the first 1,000 students who attend the event will get free t-shirts.

For the celebration, the Moore School will also serve a Southern feast, including pulled pork, fried chicken, hash and rice, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, hush puppies, cookies and sno cones. Moore School students will need to show their Carolina Card (student ID) to take part in the buffet.
