UofSC's affiliate program in Cyprus is designed to help American students gain firsthand knowledge of life and culture in Cyprus. Nicosia, capital of Cyprus, combines both old and new in a busy modern commercial and business center and a centuries-old culture. The center of the city is its old quarter surrounded by a Venetian sandstone fortress wall with a moat and heart-shaped bastions. UofSC students will join about 7,000 students at the University of Nicosia.

The University of Nicosia offers several excursions throughout the academic year. Students on the Semester in Cyprus study abroad program have a series of excursions to every major town in Cyprus over the course of the semester. In addition, there is a 7-City Tour of major European towns, as well as a Mediterranean Tour.

Per university policy, all UofSC students will be charged emergency medical, evacuation and repatriation insurance for their time abroad. Contact the Study Abroad Office for more details.

Housing is guaranteed for incoming students. You will live in shared apartments that are located within walking distance of campus and local shopping areas. Single housing is available for an extra fee.

The University of Nicosia is designed on the American semester model and roughly follows the USC academic calendar.

There is a mandatory orientation at the beginning of the term. 

Foreign students at the University of Nicosia are not required to obtain a visa to study. You will need a valid passport.
