UofSC's exchange program at Waseda University is designed to expose UofSC students to Japanese life and culture. Waseda is consistently ranked as one of the top universities in Japan, and its MBA program is ranked 2nd in Japan. The Waseda University School of Commerce is the oldest faculty of business or commercial studies in a Japanese private university. The program is located in the Shinjuku ward of Tokyo, part of Japan's capital city. Shinjuku is known for its combination of creative and artistic areas with high-profile business areas. Students can explore the Golden Gai, home to Japan's beatnik community, or walk around Nishi-Shinjuku, home to several of Tokyo's tallest skyscrapers and known to be the largest concentration of skyscrapers in Tokyo.

Student-run activities are very popular at Waseda University, and there are a number of organizations that cater to exchange/international students. Offerings include cultural excursions, volunteer organizations, conversation partnerships, and cultural festivals

Spring semester at Waseda starts in early-April and runs through the end of July.

Waseda University provides exchange students with an on-site orientation approximately one week before classes begin for the semester. Students will receive a handbook that outlines important details and resources for living and studying in Japan.

All students must have a valid entry visa in order to study in Japan.
