Internships

Every College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management student graduates with career-related work experience on their resume, giving them an edge in the job market after graduation.

By incorporating internships into curriculum requirements, students are guaranteed to gain applicable work experience while they earn their degree.

Dedicated Support

HRSM students receive support and guidance from specialized staff who help students maximize work experience opportunities while they are in school.

Resources include internship directors in each academic department, a corporate engagement office that connects students and companies, college-specific career fairs, and countless opportunities for networking with alumni and industry employers.

Work Experience Curriculum

All undergraduate students in the College of HRSM must complete career-related work experience as part of their degree requirements. Work experience is built into the college's curriculum to ensure that students are ready to hit the ground running as they enter the job market.

The work experience requirement (internship) is typically completed in the junior or senior year and includes a formal internship position, management or supervisory position, or rotational position that includes work experience in three or more areas of the same company.

  • Internships, regardless of your area, must be paid for through your tuition.
  • Internships receive a letter grade (they are not pass/fail).
  • Internships may be paid or unpaid, depending on the employer.
  • Internships can be completed anywhere in the world, as long as there is access to the internet or a way to submit related coursework during the experience.

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
