UPDATE: Retailing majors Chloe Baker and Sophia Dudley will represent the University of South Carolina at New York Fashion Week in February 2023. More experiential learning opportunities will be available in the future.
Two University of South Carolina Department of Retailing students will receive scholarships to travel to New York City and attend New York Fashion Week events from Feb. 9-12, 2023.
The scholarships will be offered through a partnership between the university's College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management and Office of Trademark Licensing and CLC/Learfield's UofNYFW program.
The program allows special student access to NYFW and networking with fashion industry leaders with an emphasis on experiential learning for students from select universities across the country.
Students majoring in retailing and having junior or senior standing for the Spring 2023 semester are eligible to apply for the scholarships, which will cover travel, lodging and admission to selected events.
The winners will be chosen by Department of Retailing faculty and leadership. Students with a Fashion Merchandising and Digital Innovations concentration will be given priority, as will students with a strong GPA and history of leadership/service endeavors.
Students interested must submit a resume and letter of interest along with relevant leadership and service examples via email to Department of Retailing Chair Jeffrey Campbell (jcampbell@hrsm.sc.edu) by 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 20, 2022. Winners will be notified via email no later than Nov. 29.
