  • Steven Arella (Sport and Entertainment Management)  accepted a new position as MLB salary arbitration intern at Excalibur Sports Group.
  • Madison Butler (Sport and Entertainment Management) accepted a guest experience position with the Miami Dolphins and Hard Rock Stadium to begin after graduation in December.
  • Jayden Carrillo (Sport and Entertainment Management) accepted an internship with USTA South Carolina for spring semester.
  • Caitlin Cassidy (Sport and Entertainment Management) accepted a social media and marketing internship with the Wells Fargo Championship PGA Select Tournament.
  • Ethan Farrell (Sport and Entertainment Management) accepted a position as inside sales representative with BSE Global and the Brooklyn Nets for after graduation in May 2024.

  • Quinn Martin (Sport and Entertainment Management) accepted a baseball operations internship with the Brewster Whitecaps for the 2024 Cape Cod Baseball League season
  • Kayla Mason (Hospitality Management) accepted a position as an active program alumni/Disney Programs representative, an on-campus recruitment role promoting the Disney College Program and Disney internships to USC students.
  • Julia Miller (Retailing - Retail Management) accepted a commercial internship with Nucor Corporation for summer 2024.
  • Christopher Mullen (Sport and Entertainment Management) accepted an internship with Gamecock Athletics as a Gamecock Club and development intern for spring semester.
  • Jenna Myers (Hospitality Management) accepted an offer to become an events corporate manager trainee at the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego beginning in June 2024.
  • Patrick Sain (Sport and Entertainment Management) accepted a position as tournament operations assistant with the Carolinas PGA Section for summer 2024.
  • Emily Silvaggio (Sport and Entertainment Management) will be attending Super Bowl LVIII through the Las Vegas '24 Sport Business Program with Living Sport.
  • Olivia Stepp (Retailing - Retail Management) accepted a position as retail operations intern with TPC Sawgrass to begin after graduation in December.
  • Maggie Thrasher (Sport and Entertainment Management) accepted a partnership activation internship with the Winston-Salem Dash for summer 2024.
  • Merritt Woodham (Hospitality Management) accepted an internship with the Five Points Association for spring semester.
  • Brooke Zerbe (Hospitality Management) accepted an offer to join Greenville Country Club (SC) as their Summer 2024 Level 2 Private Events Intern.

Faculty Notes

  • Kimberly Chamberlain co-wrote "Advising Practices in the Second-Year Student Experience," recently published in Academic Advising Today.
  • Collin Crick has been selected for USC's Pipeline for Academy Leaders (PAL) fellowship program.
  • Tom Mullikin earned the 2023 William Jasper Freedom Award, presented by the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce in recognition of his "significant military service to South Carolina and the nation."
  • Lena Pinkston received the President's Volunteer Service Award's highest honor, the President's Lifetime Achievement Award, reserved for those who have contributed more than 4,000 hours of service in their lifetime. PVSA is a national program led by AmeriCorps that encourages citizens to live a life of service.
  • Md. Rafiqul Islam Rana gave five research presentations at the 2023 International Textile and Apparel Association (ITAA) Conference in Baltimore.
  • Armen Shaomian earned the John N. Gardner Inspirational Faculty Award. The award is presented annually by University Housing and University 101 Programs to a University of South Carolina faculty member who clearly demonstrates a devotion to residential students’ sense of belonging and education.
  • Scott Taylor Jr. and Robin DiPietro are part of a collaborative research team that has won a $750,000 grant from the National Institute of Food and Agriculture to work on food security.

  • Jenna (Sclafani) Allanson (Sport and Entertainment Management, '20) started a new position as marketing and communications specialist for the Student Health Care Center at the University of Florida.
  • Sarah-Jane (SJ) Andersen (Sport and Entertainment Management, '20) started a new position as artist relations assistant at EmuBands in Glasgow, Scotland.
  • Alex Barnes (Sport and Entertainment Management, '22) accepted a new position as manager, business development with LEARFIELD and Mizzou Sports Properties.
