  • Student Olivia Ballweg (Sport and Entertainment Management) accepted an operations internship with Sporting Kansas City.
  • Assistant Professor Tarlan Chahardovali (Sport and Entertainment Management) and a colleague from the University of Florida published “Manufacturing Dreams and Investing in Future Generations: Women Athletes’ Inspirational Labor in the Marketing and Promotion of Their Sport” in the Sociology of Sport Journal.
  • Associate Professor Marketa Kubickova (Hospitality and Tourism Management) and colleagues from the University of Central Florida published “Destination Competitiveness and Human Development: The Compelling Critical Force of Human Agency” in the Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Research.
  • Student Landon Read (Retailing - Retail Management) accepted a merchandising internship with Altar’d State for summer 2023.
  • Student Olivia Stepp (Retailing - Fashion Merchandising and Digital Innovations) accepted a 2023 summer retail internship with the Miami Dolphins and Hard Rock Stadium in their retail department.
  • Assistant Professor and Wine & Beverage Institute Assistant Director Scott Taylor (Hospitality and Tourism Management) earned a Craft Brewing certification from Cornell University.
  • Associate Professor Nick Watanabe (Sport and Entertainment Management,) co-authored the article “Anti-transgender rights legislation and internet searches pertaining to depression and suicide” with colleagues from the University of Florida and the School of Law at Western New England University. It was published in the PLOS Onejournal.

  • Thomas Beyer (Hospitality Management) accepted a new position as executive vice president at Kingsbury Financial.
  • Eric Bischofberger (Hospitality Management) accepted a new position as director of operations at Latitude Margaritaville Hilton Head.
  • Abbie Consoer (Hospitality Management, '22) accepted a position as banquet services manager at TPC Sawgrass.
  • Jacob DiBattista (Sport and Entertainment Management, '22) accepted a new position as inside sales representative with the Philadelphia Flyers.
  • Kinsey Hopkins-Campbell (Sport and Entertainment Management, '22) accepted a new position as a game experience associate with the New Orleans Pelicans and Saints.
  • Jessica Lee (Sport and Entertainment Management, '10) was promoted to director, ticket operations with the Atlanta Braves.
  • Kristin Malek (Master of International Hospitality and Tourism Management, '12) won the  International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) Bob Dallmeyer Educator of the Year Award. The award is presented to IAEE members who possess outstanding creativity, a positive attitude and the ability to transfer knowledge through good communication skills and innovative teaching to promote life-long learning to exhibitions and events industry professionals.
  • Jacob Miller (Sport and Entertainment Management, '22) was promoted to coordinator, sponsorship consulting with MKTG.
  • Mark Modarress (Sport and Entertainment Management, '21) started a new position as event operations coordinator with FC Cincinnati.
  • Mikey Schnepfe (Sport and Entertainment Management, '20) was promoted to senior account manager with the South Carolina Gamecocks.
  • Addison Williams (Sport and Entertainment Management, '10) was promoted to defensive coordinator for the University of Central Florida football team.
  • Blake Williams (Sport and Entertainment Management, '21) was promoted to sales executive fiber one with AT&T.
  • Rebecca Yepez (Sport and Entertainment Management, '22) accepted a position as assistant, ballpark operations with the Seattle Mariners.
