Student Notes

  • Caroline Aase and Grace Hutton represented the College of HRSM at the 35th annual International Society of Hospitality Consultants (ISHC) conference in Washington, D.C.
  • Sport and Entertainment Management Ph.D. student Saad Alshamari presented research he co-authored with Professor Stephen Shapiro at the European Association of Sport Management Conference in Belfast.
  • Sport and Entertainment Management Ph.D. student Chan Hyeon Hur was a finalist for the European Sport Management Quarterly New Researcher award. He presented his research at the European Association of Sport Management Conference in Belfast.
  • Erin Lewantowicz earned a $10,000 Semester at Sea scholarship from the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
  • Ava Patak (Sport and Entertainment Management) was inducted into the Alpha Tau Chapter of Order of Omega. This Greek Leadership Honor Society recognizes students in Greek life that have been outstanding leaders on campus and value character, scholarship, service and leadership.
  • Caroline Sunderlage (Hospitality Management) accepted an internship with Gamecock Entertainment.
  • Ava Uthoff (Retailing - Fashion Merchandising and Digital Innovations) earned the optimus discipulus award for outstanding performance in Karen Edwards’ digital retailing class.

  • Samantha Kinsley (Sport and Entertainment Management, '21) was promoted to a new position as an account executive at Bespoke Sports & Entertainment.
  • Becca Lino (Hospitality Management, '16) started a new position as senior event technology lead at Amazon.
  • Annabelle Lombardo (Sport and Entertainment Management, '23) accepted a new position as coordinator, corporate partnership strategy and operations at Comcast Spectacor, owner and operator of the Wells Fargo Center, home to the Philadelphia Flyers.
  • Kelli Lynch (Sport and Entertainment Management, '20) was promoted to account executive, premium partnerships with the New Jersey Devils.
  • Kristy McPherson (Sport and Entertainment Management, '03) will be inducted into the WGCA Players Hall of Fame. She’s the first Gamecock to be inducted.
  • Jana Medlin (Hospitality Management, '06) earned the 2023 Community Service award for the Wingate Inn by Wyndham.
  • George Perkins (Hospitality Management, '22) started a new position as supplier enrollment representative at AvidXchange, Inc.
  • Will Prystowsky (Sport and Entertainment Management, '15) started a new position as director of sales and business development at INW Dallas One Solutions.
  • Kristie Santora Rasheed (Hospitality Management '02, current Master of International Hospitality and Tourism Management) was selected as a member of the 2023 Class of The Charleston Regional Business Journal Women of Influence.
  • Sydney Richardson (Sport and Entertainment Management, '21) accepted a new position as the assistant to the vice president of intercollegiate athletics/compliance coordinator at Limestone University.
  • Brittany Rochester (Sport and Entertainment Management, '21) started a new position as an account manager with Hirschfeld Marketing Solutions.
