School of Hospitality and Tourism Management launches search for top leadership position

The University of South Carolina is searching for the next director of its School of Hospitality and Tourism Management.

Housed in the College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management (HRSM), the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management is consistently ranked as one of the programs of its kind in the United States. Tourism and hospitality are leading industries in the state of South Carolina and contributed a record-breaking $29 billion to the state’s economy in 2022. The school's excellence and location have it perfectly positioned for continued growth and innovation across education, research and industry collaboration.

As outlined in the formal position posting, "The new director will be an energetic and enterprising academic leader who will embody and promote both academic excellence and a culture of collaboration, inclusion, mentorship, and innovation."

The selected candidate will take the helm of a dynamic academic unit comprised of four degree programs, four research centers and institutes, an on-campus restaurant and event venue, 32 full-time faculty and staff and nearly 600 students. The University of South Carolina has recently welcomed a new president, provost and dean of the College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management, so the School of HTMT director will join an energized campus during a season of renewed innovation, opportunity and school pride.

The search for the leadership position opened on November 14 and is being managed by an internal search committee in partnership with AGB Search. Nominations and expressions of interest in the director, School of Hospitality and Tourism Management position are encouraged, and should be sent to USCDirectorHTMT@agbsearch.com.
