Student Notes

  • Marissa Armato (Retailing - Retail Management) accepted a public relations internship with Mrkt for spring 2024.
  • Retailing students Elizabeth Amatangelo and Olivia Andrew will represent USC at New York Fashion Week in February. They'll receive a free trip along with behind the scenes access and an education immersion in the world of fashion. The opportunity is made possible by a partnership between the College of HRSM, Gamecock Athletics, USC Trademark Licensing, CLC and IMG. 
  • Jenna Bernstein (Sport and Entertainment Management) accepted an internship for summer 2023 with Cattail Creek Country Club as part of their 3 month PGA internship program.
  • Wil Fisackerly (Ph.D., Sport and Entertainment Management) will be joining the University of Oklahoma - Price College of Business next fall as an instructor in their management and international business division. He will be teaching both sport and esports courses.
  • Jackson Gobeil (Sport and Entertainment Management) accepted a position as gameday production manager for the Adelaide Giants, the reigning Australian Baseball League champions. 
  • Sydney Herz (Sport and Entertainment Management) accepted a position as director of marketing operations with P27 Baseball Academy in Lexington.
  • Trevor Lazarus (Hospitality Management) accepted an internship offer with NBC Universal as a hospitality guide for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
  • Ayanna Marshall (Tourism Management) completed the Leadership in the Hospitality Industry certificate program. 
  • Brian Mullaney (Retailing - Retail Management) accepted a retail management internship with CVS for summer 2024.
  • Isabella Nearhood (Retailing - Retail Management) accepted an internship with Kiawah Island Golf Resort for summer 2024.
  • Madeline Piron (Sport and Entertainment Management)  accepted a full-time rotational food and beverage externship with The Alotian Club in Roland, Arkansas. She will begin the new role after graduation in May.
  • Caroline Salisbury (Tourism Management)  accepted a full time offer with The Walt Disney Company. After  graduation in May, she will begin a role as guest experience manager of food and beverage operations at the Magic Kingdom, as part of Disney’s highly competitive Hospitality Leadership Program.
  • Madi Schnepfe (Tourism Management) was recognized as a top ambassador for Wasserman Next Gen.
  • Maria Amelia Vale de Gato (Hospitality Management) accepted a guest services internship at Cambria Hotel Columbia.
  • Tate Van Liew (Hospitality Management) accepted a full-time rotational food and beverage externship with The Alotian Club in Roland, Arkansas. She will begin the new role after graduation in May.
  • Brooke Walsh (Sport and Entertainment Management) accepted a sports internship with Boca West Country Club for summer 2024. 
  • Marissa Womack (Sport and Entertainment Management) accepted a new position as promotions intern for the Tampa Bay Rays.
  • Brooke Yates (Sport and Entertainment Management) accepted a marketing internship with Gamecock Athletics.

Faculty Notes

  • Erica Lake received the Southern Star Award at the annual Southern Association of Colleges and Employers (SoACE) Conference in New Orleans. The award recognizes significant and outstanding contributions to the profession, to society, or to SoACE.
  • Danny Morrison was named business person of the year by the Charlotte Business Journal.
  • Richard Southall earned certification as a Professional Association of Diving Instructors course director.
  • Nick Watanabe was named associate editor for European Sport Management Quarterly.

  • Lilly Anaclerio (Hospitality Management, '23) accepted a new position with Encore as their customer experience coordinator within The Charleston Place.
  • Zoë Baker (Sport and Entertainment Management, '23) started a new position as account executive with the Tucson Roadrunners.
  • Ryan Brewer (Sport and Entertainment Management, '23) accepted a full-time position as assistant director of operations and event management with University of South Carolina Athletics. He will also continue pursuing his master of sport and entertainment management degree at the College of HRSM.
  • Thomas Brooks (Sport and Entertainment Management, '17) was promoted to senior account executive with Gamecock Athletics.
  • Vitoria Carvalho (Sport and Entertainment Management, '23) started a new position as international logistics assistant at Entourage Conteúdo Artístico. 
  • Isabel de Armas (Sport and Entertainment Management, '19) accepted a new position as consultant, new ticket initiatives with the Atlanta Braves.
  • Perry Dominici (Hospitality Management, '22) started a new position as assistant general manager at Sea Island Company.
  • Rachel Elliott (Hospitality Management, '21) started a new position as catering sales manager at the Embassy Suites Nashville Downtown.
  • Collin Goff (Sport and Entertainment Management, '21) was promoted to senior account executive with the Gamecock Club.
