McCutchen House Dining

The University of South Carolina's School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management hosts a variety of dining options, as well as wine and culinary classes that are open to the community, at the unique and historic McCutchen House.

This is more than a restaurant. It's a hands-on classroom where hospitality management students gain valuable experience in running a full-service restaurant. Please join the students of the School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management to enjoy a unique dining experience and an opportunity to provide valuable feedback that will enrich students' education. ​

Bistro Lunch Dining

With the exception of university holidays, the McCutchen House hours of lunch service are Tuesday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. -1:00 p.m.  Explore our menus and make your reservation today!

Thursday Dinners

Enjoy a four-course dinner at the historic McCutchen House. These delicious meals are served most Thursday nights during the fall and spring semesters. Guests 21+ may bring their own beer or wine.

Large Party Luncheons

McCutchen House is happy to accommodate your party of 12 or more with a menu designed to suit each of your guests. Lunches include tomato pie, flatbread and herbed butter, salad, choice of entrée and chocolate walnut pie. Beverages include sweetened and unsweetened tea, water and coffee.

Private Lunch Dining

Private dining on the 3rd floor of the McCutchen House in the Patterson Room is offered to any group of eight to 12 guests. Whether you are celebrating a special occasion with friends, arranging a unique business meeting or creating a memorable meal with out-of-town guests, this private board room style setting will be sure to please. 

Garden Grill

During the summer months, the McCutchen House patio opens for dining outdoors. The Garden Grill features grilled summer favorites: burgers, wraps,  salads and sandwiches.

Whether you are a bride looking for an exquisite backdrop for your wedding reception, or you would like to reserve a room for a corporate gathering, the McCutchen House can serve as a unique and memorable location for your special occasion.

McCutchen House History

This beautiful home was originally built as a faculty house in 1813. Having survived the Civil War, and the ever-changing landscape of the University of South Carolina, McCutchen House is now operated by the School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management as a venue for dining, culinary and wine classes and special events.
