Spark supports the School of Music community as it transforms meaningful ideas into real opportunity.
The Creativity in Music Awards support music students who pursue inventive projects while giving them a framework for expanding boundaries, taking chances and discovering their personal voice. Finalists receive financial support as they compete for prizes totaling $3,000.
The Creativity in Teaching Grants aid in the development and implementation of creative elements in teaching. Awards are available to faculty and staff members for projects realized in the following academic year. Proposals are welcome from all Faculty and Staff who interact with students within and beyond the classroom. Previous winners are welcome to reapply to fund new projects or new initiatives within existing projects.
Spark Mini-Grants enable full-time faculty, staff and students to request funds for Spark-related goals within the School of Music. Requests should fall in line with the Spark mission to prepare students for vibrant and sustainable futures through creative learning, skill development, and personal exploration. The maximum award per recipient is $500 each academic year.
In addition to the awards, Spark team members can be available for project consultations. Come in with your project timeline and overview to get help with any challenges you may be facing.
