A letter from the dean about Covid-19

Posted on April 10, 2020

Dear HRSM Alumni and Friends,

We are thinking of you and hope your family is healthy and well during this unprecedented time.
Our industries of hospitality, tourism, retail, sport and entertainment are the heartbeat of vibrant communities, and we share in your heartbreak to see life as we know it put on hold and neighbors falling ill. We are keeping you, your families, colleagues and friends in our thoughts as we all endure personal and professional hardships and sacrifices to limit the spread of the virus that our medical professionals are fighting against.

The College of HRSM is working to focus on innovation and solutions to help our students, alumni and industry partners both now and in the future. We are reaching out today to strengthen the impact of that focus for the greatest good.

Please let us know how we can help you, or how you might like to get involved, such as:

  • Sharing job openings if your business is hiring.
  • Developing online student internships.
  • Sharing story ideas, tips or resources related to business innovation and resilience.
  • Suggesting trainings, seminars or resources that would be beneficial to you during this time.
  • Participating in virtual networking events for students or alumni.
  • Receiving information about job search resources.

Please click here to submit your ideas, interest or questions!

We always strive to advance the future of our industries through unstoppable integrity in providing our students the best preparation for their careers and life — no matter the circumstance. Our faculty and staff are responding quickly to emergent needs through online classes and support, but we are also thinking forward to stay prepared for the recovery that will eventually follow.

Although our industries, alumni and our graduating seniors are acutely impacted by the pandemic, together we will lift up one another and our communities.

Thank you to those who are able to help, and to those who are letting us know where you need help. We will get through this together.

Forever to thee,

Haemoon Oh
