USC Wind Ensemble releases CD

A CD of Carolina’s premier wind ensemble’s electrifying performance at the 2013 College Band Directors National Association National Conference in Greensboro, N.C. will release on September 24. Led by Scott Weiss, the USC Wind Ensemble’s CD, “And I Await…” will release on the Mark Custom label and will be available at most major online retailers and iTunes. It will also be available for sale at all USC Bands concerts.

The USC Wind Ensemble’s invitation to play at the conference’s Saturday evening concert is the highest honor a university wind ensemble can receive. Recorded live at the conference in March, the CD includes John Fitz Rogers's new work “Narragansett,” conducted by Rebecca Phillips. Also on the CD is Joseph Eller's stunning performance of the Ticheli Clarinet Concerto as well as performances of David Dzubay's “Snake Alley” and Messiaen's  monumental work, “Et exspecto resurrectionem mortuorum.” The CD will be released internationally in late September.
