Aja Willis

Biographical Information:

I am the daughter of two military veterans from Hampton, SC. I obtained my bachelors degree from USC Upstate in Spartanburg, SC. I am a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. In my free time, I like to read, shop, and try new restaurants. I became interested in Public Health while working for the Institute for Environmental Health as a lab analyst. When I visited USC during Prospective Students' Day, I instantly felt welcomed by the faculty of the ASPH department. Every professor I met has been genuine, caring, and dedicated to my success in the program. Now that I am in the program, I knew USC was the right choice for me. I don't believe I would be as successful in a MPH program at any other institution.

Research Interests:

My research interests include food safety as well as acute disease epidemiology. 

Thesis/Practicum:

My practicum involves improving implementation of Project READY (Realistic Education About Dying Young) in teens in Richland County with the Injury Prevention Department of Prisma Health.
