Sheri Silfies Profile Picture

Research and Teaching Interests

Dr. Silfies research interests focus on investigating human movement and postural control by combining neuroscience and biomechanical approaches. Using measures of movement (kinematics, kinetics), muscle activation (EMG), and brain imaging (fMRI), she strives to better understand changes in sensorimotor behavior in persons with musculoskeletal injuries and persistent pain. The current research emphasis is on understanding the brain-motor behavior relationship during control of posture and skilled movements of the lumboplevic region in individuals with persistent low back pain.
