New Publication from CPARG Researchers examining Physical Activity Behavior in Children

A group of current and former CPARG Investigators has recently published an article entitled, “A Summary of One Research Team’s Contributions to Understanding Physical Activity Behavior in Children and Youth”. The article is a review of our research group’s work as it has played out over the last three decades. Ruth Saunders, who was a major contributor, said, “Developing the manuscript was an iterative process that took place over many months. I enjoyed the process, which enabled me to get the ‘big picture’ on CPARG’s areas of contribution (i.e., measurement of physical activity and its determinants, understanding characteristics of physical activity behavior, understanding correlates/determinants of physical activity, conducting physical activity interventions, and understanding the role of race/ethnicity and physical activity). It was rewarding to see how these areas ‘fit’ together to contribute to understanding and promoting physical activity in young children, children, and adolescents.” Read More
